The Story Behind it all!

The Artwork that started it all!

Witness it. The artwork you see here is what really finally got this project rolling.

I was always fascinated by Fairy Tales, especially those that had the Wolf in them. Red Riding Hood, The Three Pigs, and Peter and the Wolf were my favorites. But I often thought to myself, "where did they all go?" Certainly their adventures didnt end there!

So I began imagining the sequels on my own. I started to think of them in their truer formats. Grimm and Gritty. And a Dark novel came into my mind.

The First Comic Idea!

The first version of Big Bad was meant to be extremely violent, and sadistic! Something that would have gotten a NC-17 rating or worse. Some of the things that were originally planned for some of the characters was grimmer than Grimm!

But I grew out of that version in 1995 and opted to make a childrens book instead. And I decided not to stop with Red, and the pigs and old Big Bad, I wanted to bring em all into the fray. Find out where Mother Goose, Jack and Jill, and Humpty Dumpty were as well.

BIG BAD on BROADWAY?!

After the childrens book idea failed me, due to wanting some more graphic content, I ended up writing a play for it!

At this point the project took a wrong turn! It went from Graphic to comical, and cute. We had singing pigs, soul blind mice, and Big Bad on a Jerry Springer like talk show!

Needless to say, and fortunately to boot, that never transpired.

So at that point the book had gone through several incarnations, and spanned almost five years!

FINALLY BIG BAD has come back to COMICS!

Soon after I met up with the guys from Broken Tree, and they were jazzed about my talent, but they couldnt quite place me with a project!

I showed them the color sketch of Red and Big Bad, and pitched them the idea. Lucky for me they dug it! Big Bad the comic was a go!

I began working out kinks in the script, and coming up with more definite character designs, and have been laboring at it ever since.

Which brings us to now!

Free Comic Book Day May 3rd!

The Guys at the now non existent Broken Tree dropped the ball. Big Bad has finally found a home and will be coming out very shortly over at 01comics.com.

I've worked very hard on the project and have done it mainly to show one guys idea of whatever happened to all these characters to you!

It will be a great ride, and we hope you enjoy it!!

Keep yer eyes peeled to the site too, as we will have more artwork and background soon!
